Realism

Realistic AI presenter

Realism is mostly a writing problem, not a technology problem.

A presenter video reads as real when the script sounds spoken, the pace is unhurried, and the frame is simple. Most awkward videos are caused by written-for-the-page sentences, not by the presenter.

The detail, in plain English

Listeners forgive a lot, but they notice unnatural phrasing instantly. Contractions, short sentences and a plain opening line do more for realism than any setting.

The 143 presenters were filmed as real people, so the raw material is already believable. Your job is to give them words a person would actually say.

What to do, step by step

  1. 1Write in contractions'You'll' and 'we're' sound spoken; 'you will' and 'we are' sound read.
  2. 2Keep sentences under 20 wordsLong clauses are where delivery starts to sound mechanical.
  3. 3Leave the frame calmA quiet background keeps attention on the face, which is where believability lives.

A worked example

Worked example (illustration). A charity rewrites a 40-word opening sentence into three short lines, and the same presenter immediately sounds conversational rather than formal.

What to watch out for

  • Bullet lists spoken aloud always sound robotic — turn them into sentences.
  • Over-long scripts drift, and drifting attention reads as fakeness.
  • Do not claim the presenter is an employee; be straightforward about how the video was made.

Questions people ask

Do I need any video experience?

No. The levers that improve realism are all in the writing, which is the part you already know how to do.

How much does it cost?

Nothing extra. Realism comes from script choices, and those cost the same as any other script on Free, £49, £149 or £499 plans.

Can I edit it afterwards?

Yes — and rewriting one stiff sentence then producing again is the fastest quality improvement available to you.
