Automatic onboarding videos for every new user

A 20-second welcome from a real-looking person makes a new account feel looked after.

On sign-up, build a short script with the user's first name and goal, POST /videos with a presenter or founder twin and the user id as idempotency key, then show the video on their first screen.

How it works

What you can build

  • A personal welcome on the dashboard

Honest limits

  • Videos take a few minutes to make, usually 2 to 10. Poll every 10 to 15 seconds or use webhooks.
  • Every finished video uses the account's video minutes. When they run out, the API returns allowance_exceeded with a message you can show as it is.
  • Call the API from server code only. Never put the key in browser code.

Questions people ask

Is one video per user expensive?

A 20-second welcome uses 20 seconds of video minutes. Generic welcome videos made once cost even less.

What if the video isn't ready yet?

Show a friendly progress card and a text welcome; swap in the video when ready.

Can I approve videos before users see them?

For personal videos that is usually unnecessary, but your library page can hold any video for review.
