Notion
Notion page to video
Internal knowledge that deserves more than another link in a channel.
Export the page as Markdown or PDF and upload it, or copy the text across. It becomes an editable spoken script, and one of 143 presenters delivers it as a finished video.
The detail, in plain English
Notion pages mix prose with databases, toggles and embedded blocks. Exported, the prose survives and the interactive parts flatten into lists that rarely make sense spoken.
Toggles are the biggest trap. Collapsed detail exports as full text, so a page that looked like six headings can arrive as two thousand words.
What to do, step by step
- 1Export the pageUse the page menu, Export, and choose Markdown or PDF. Markdown files upload and read cleanly.
- 2Remove the furnitureDelete property tables, statuses, owners and dates. Keep the sentences that explain something.
- 3Script and produceCut to the two or three things a colleague must remember, choose a presenter, and produce it.
What this format looks like as a video
| Block | After export | Do this |
|---|---|---|
| Paragraphs | Plain text | Keep and trim |
| Toggles | Fully expanded text | Cut hard |
| Database views | Long flat tables | Delete |
| Callouts | A line of text | Often your best line |
| Embeds | A bare link | Delete or describe |
A worked example
Worked example (illustration). A team wiki page for new starters exports to 1,900 words, mostly expanded toggles. Cut to the five things to do in week one, it becomes an 80-second welcome video linked from the same page.
What to watch out for
- Export the page, not the whole workspace, or you will get a folder of unrelated files.
- Sub-pages export as separate files; script each one as its own short video.
- Property tables at the top of a page always need deleting before scripting.
How AutoPersonify does it
PDF, Word, plain text and Markdown files are read in your browser, and a public web address can be read for you. Everything else is pasted in as text. You then get 143 real presenters, scripts in 42 languages, and a free tier with no card. Paid plans are Starter £49, Growth £149 and Scale £499 a month, measured in finished video minutes.
Questions people ask
How long does it take?
The export takes under a minute. Cleaning up an expanded page is the slow part, typically fifteen minutes for a well-used wiki page.
Can I change the wording?
Yes, fully. Exported internal notes are usually written in shorthand, so expect to rewrite rather than lightly trim.
What does it cost?
Nothing to try. Internal comms teams making a handful of short videos each month usually stay within Starter £49.
