A deck is a prompt for a person, not a document. Its bullets are cues, which is why a deck read aloud word for word sounds like a list rather than an explanation.
Speaker notes, where they exist, are already the script. Where they do not, write one or two sentences per slide and treat the bullets as headings you speak around.

A worked example
Worked example (illustration). A ten-slide quarterly deck becomes a two-minute video: the agenda slide is dropped, seven content slides get one sentence each, the data slide gets three, and the close asks for one decision.
What to watch out for
- The video does not show your slides — anything only visible on the slide must be spoken.
- Dropping the agenda slide almost always improves the video and saves ten seconds.
- Decks written in fragments need full sentences, or the delivery sounds clipped.
