Cold email with video

Cold email fails because it asks for time. An email carrying a finished video asks for 60 seconds of curiosity instead.

Write three sentences: what you made, why it is about them, and a link. The video is the offer, so the email does not need a pitch, a calendar link or a paragraph about your agency.

How it works, step by step

  1. 1Subject line names the artefact"A 60-second video for [company]" outperforms any curiosity-gap subject.
  2. 2Three sentences, one linkAnything longer competes with the video you have already made.
  3. 3Follow the open, not the scheduleYou are notified when the link is opened and first played. Those two events are the follow-up triggers.
  4. 4Let them buy without replyingA price on the link means an interested recipient does not have to start a conversation to become a customer.

A worked example in pounds

Worked example (illustration). An agency sends 100 videos of 45 seconds, which is 75 finished minutes, and sells six at £200. That is £1,200 collected, £60 in platform fees, on a Growth plan costing £149.

What to watch out for

  • Only contact business addresses, identify your agency clearly and honour unsubscribes.
  • Do not reuse one generic script. A video that is not visibly about them is worse than no video.
  • Do not attach the video file. A link gives you the open and play signals.

Questions agencies ask

How long does this take?

A hundred 45-second videos are produced in a day because each one is a script swap. The research on who to contact takes longer than the production.

What does it cost?

Seventy-five finished minutes sits inside Growth at £149 a month. There is no per-send or per-video charge.

Does the client need an account?

No. The recipient opens a link, watches, and can pay by card there. Nothing is required of them beyond a browser.
