Press release video

The announcement, in the form journalists and feeds actually share.

Paste the release. The headline, the news and the supporting detail become a short spoken script you edit, then a presenter you choose delivers it as a finished video for your newsroom and social channels.

The detail, in plain English

A release is written for editors: dateline, boilerplate, quotes, notes to editors. Only the middle of it belongs in a video.

Quotations need care. A presenter reading a chief executive's quote is not that person speaking, so introduce it as a quotation or rewrite it as reported speech.

What to do, step by step

  1. 1Paste the approved releaseUse the signed-off wording, since announcements are usually legally reviewed.
  2. 2Keep the news, cut the apparatusDrop the dateline, boilerplate and notes to editors. Keep what happened, when, and why it matters.
  3. 3Produce it for the newsroomChoose a presenter, produce the video, and publish it alongside the written release.

A worked example

Worked example (illustration). A 600-word funding announcement becomes a 55-second video: what was announced, the number, what it pays for, and where to read the full release — with the chief executive's quote introduced as a quotation.

What to watch out for

  • Do not present a quotation as though the quoted person is speaking on camera.
  • Embargoes apply to video as much as text — publish on the same schedule.
  • Legal sign-off should cover the spoken script, not just the written release.

How AutoPersonify does it

PDF, Word, plain text and Markdown files are read in your browser, and a public web address can be read for you. Everything else is pasted in as text. You then get 143 real presenters, scripts in 42 languages, and a free tier with no card. Paid plans are Starter £49, Growth £149 and Scale £499 a month, measured in finished video minutes.

Questions people ask

How long does it take?

Fifteen minutes for the script, plus whatever your approval process needs. The video itself is produced in minutes once the wording is agreed.

Can I change the wording?

Yes, but announcements are usually approved wording, so keep changes to cuts and reordering and send the spoken script back for sign-off.

What does it cost?

Free to try. Communications teams issuing releases monthly typically sit on Starter £49; multiple brands or languages usually mean Growth £149.
