Editing an AI video after it is made
There are two kinds of change, and picking the wrong one wastes an afternoon.
Change the words by editing the script and producing a new version — the old one stays in the project. Change the packaging, such as trims, titles or joins, in any editor using the downloaded file.
The detail, in plain English
Anything the presenter says lives in the script. There is no way to cut a word out of a spoken sentence cleanly, and no need to try: reproduce it.
Anything around the speech — a trim at the top, a title card, joining two clips, adding a screen recording — is ordinary editing on the downloaded file.
Versions matter. Keeping the earlier take means you can go back when a reviewer changes their mind, which they will.

A worked example
Worked example (illustration). A finance team spots a wrong renewal date in a 90-second client update, edits one sentence, and has the corrected version out the same hour with the original kept for the audit trail.
What to watch out for
- Do not try to splice a corrected sentence into an existing take — the join is always audible.
- Keep the version you sent to a client, in case they quote it back.
- If you edit externally, keep the original download; re-exporting a re-export degrades quality.
