Case study videos for agency clients

Case studies are usually written, rarely read and almost never filmed. A presenter video solves the middle problem without the scheduling of the third.

Take an approved written case study, cut it to a 90-second script with the result stated first, and have a presenter deliver it. No filming, no client diary, and the client's sales team gets something they will actually send.

How it works, step by step

  1. 1Start from approved wordingUse the case study the client has already signed off, so nothing new needs legal review.
  2. 2Put the result in the first sentenceThe outcome belongs at the start. Background belongs after it, if at all.
  3. 3Upload the documentA case study in a document or a web page becomes the script draft, which you then trim.
  4. 4Deliver in the versions sales will useOne for the website, one shorter cut for email, and a version in a second language if the client sells abroad.

A worked example in pounds

Worked example (illustration). An agency charges £450 for a three-version case study set. It uses 3.6 finished minutes, so a Starter plan at £49 covers eight such sets a month with minutes to spare.

What to watch out for

  • Only state figures the client has published. Never dramatise a result to make the script stronger.
  • Named customers must have agreed to be named in video, not just in writing.
  • Keep the presenter consistent across a client's case studies so the set looks like a series.

Questions agencies ask

How long does this take?

From an approved written case study, the three versions are produced in under an hour, most of which is trimming the script rather than waiting for video.

What does it cost?

Around 3.6 finished minutes per set. On Growth at £149 a month you have 120 minutes, which is roughly 33 sets.

Does the client need an account?

No. The client reviews the case study video on a link and approves it there. Only the agency works inside the app.
