Video for financial services
Product explainers and client updates, produced inside an approval process.
Financial services firms make four regularly: a product explainer, an annual client review summary, a market update and a regulatory notice. Each runs sixty to a hundred and twenty seconds and passes compliance before release.
Why video earns its place here
The gating factor here is approval, not production. Because the script is a text document that a compliance officer can mark up before anything is produced, the approval trail stays intact and the video is a by-product of the approved copy.
Market updates lose value with age, so firms that publish a short monthly one keep the relationship warm without committing to a studio schedule they will abandon in March.
The four videos this sector makes most
| Video | Length | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Product explainer | 120 seconds | Explain the product, the charges and the risks in plain English |
| Annual review summary | 90 seconds | Recap performance and charges before the review meeting |
| Market update | 60 seconds | Keep clients informed monthly without a written commentary nobody opens |
| Regulatory notice | 60 seconds | Explain a change in terms, charges or protection in language a client follows |
A worked script outline
- 1Say what the product is for"This is a stocks and shares ISA, and it suits money you can leave invested for at least five years."
- 2State charges plainlyPercentages and pounds. Vagueness about cost is the fastest route to a complaint.
- 3Give the risk warning properly"The value of investments can fall as well as rise, and you may get back less than you put in."
- 4Close without a recommendation"This is information, not advice. Speak to your adviser about whether it fits your circumstances."
Compliance and tone notes
- Financial promotions must be fair, clear and not misleading, and must be approved by an authorised person before release. Keep the approved script version tied to the produced video.
- Include the required risk warnings in the spoken script, not only in on-screen text, and never imply guaranteed returns.
- Past performance references need the standard warning and a clear period; avoid them entirely in short videos where context cannot fit.
- Record who approved the script, when, and against which permissions, and keep it for your normal promotion retention period.

Questions people ask
Is there a free tier?
Yes, with no card. Most firms use the free allowance to run one script through their approval process end to end before adopting video more widely.
Can I use my own likeness?
Yes. An adviser's own likeness is generally preferred for client-facing updates, because clients are being asked to act on a named individual's words.
Do you support other languages?
Yes, 42 languages, though every translated financial promotion needs approving in that language too — a translated risk warning is still a risk warning.
