Accountancy

Video for accountants

Records requests, deadlines and year-end summaries, sent once to the whole client list.

Accountancy practices make four most often: a deadline reminder, a records request explainer, a year-end accounts summary and a bookkeeping software walk-through. Each runs sixty to ninety seconds and is reused every cycle.

Why video earns its place here

January is the whole argument. A records request video sent in October, explaining exactly what is needed and in what format, moves work out of the deadline month better than another reminder email.

The software walk-through removes the recurring support call. Showing how to attach a receipt or reconcile a feed once, in the practice's own words, is worth more than a link to a generic help page.

The four videos this sector makes most

Typical lengths and what each one is for
VideoLengthPurpose
Deadline reminder45 secondsName the filing date, the penalty and what you still need
Records request explainer90 secondsExactly what to send, in what format, and by when
Year-end summary90 secondsWalk a client through their accounts before the approval call
Software walk-through60 secondsAnswer the bookkeeping question the practice fields every week

A worked script outline

  1. 1Put the date first"Self assessment returns are due by 31 January, and we need your records by 30 November to guarantee filing."
  2. 2List what you need, concretely"Bank statements for the full year, any invoices raised outside the software, and the mileage log."
  3. 3Say what happens if it is lateLate-filing penalties, stated factually and without threat.
  4. 4Make the reply trivially easy"Upload everything to the portal — reply to this email if you have lost the link."

Compliance and tone notes

  • Keep general tax information separate from advice on a client's own position, and say which the video is giving.
  • Client data and figures never belong in a video sent to more than one recipient; year-end summaries must be produced per client and shared privately.
  • Anti-money-laundering identity requirements can be explained on camera, but never ask for identity documents by reply email in the script.
  • Date every tax-year reference explicitly — "the 2026/27 year" rather than "this year" — because these videos get reused.

Questions people ask

Is there a free tier?

Yes. Practices often make the records request video on the free allowance in autumn and judge it on how many clients respond before January.

Can I use my own likeness?

Yes. For year-end summaries, the client expects the partner they engaged, and their own likeness makes the approval conversation shorter.

Do you support other languages?

Yes, 42 languages, which helps practices serving owner-managed businesses where the director's first language is not English.
