HR
Internal communications video
Policy changes, benefits and leadership updates that people actually watch.
Internal comms teams make four most often: a policy update, a benefits explainer, a leadership message and a new-starter welcome. Each runs sixty to ninety seconds and replaces an all-staff email nobody finishes.
Why video earns its place here
The all-staff email has a readership problem, not a writing problem. A ninety-second video of the same message, embedded in the intranet post, gets watched in the time it takes to read the first paragraph.
Benefits explainers are seasonal and repetitive, which is exactly what suits this. The enrolment window video can be reproduced each year by editing dates and figures rather than rebooking a studio.
The four videos this sector makes most
| Video | Length | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Policy update | 60 seconds | Say what changed, who it affects and from when |
| Benefits explainer | 90 seconds | Walk through the enrolment window and the choices people must make |
| Leadership message | 60–90 seconds | Deliver a results, restructure or direction update with a face on it |
| New-starter welcome | 45 seconds | Give day one the same warm, consistent opening across every location |
A worked script outline
- 1Say the change in the first line"From 1 October, the expenses limit for overnight stays rises to £150." No preamble.
- 2Name who it affects"This applies to anyone travelling for work, including contractors on our systems."
- 3Explain the reason brieflyOne sentence. Staff detect a missing reason faster than they detect a bad one.
- 4Point at the detail and the contact"The full policy is on the intranet, and HR operations will answer anything it does not cover."
Compliance and tone notes
- Consult before you announce. A restructure video published ahead of required consultation creates a legal problem no amount of tone fixes.
- Internal videos leak. Write every script as if it could be screenshotted externally, and keep unpublished commercial detail out.
- Where a change affects terms and conditions, the video summarises but the written document governs — say so on camera.
- Keep employee names and personal circumstances out of general announcements entirely.

Questions people ask
Is there a free tier?
Yes, no card required. It is normally enough to produce one policy update video and see whether intranet engagement changes before requesting budget.
Can I use my own likeness?
Yes, and for leadership messages it matters. Staff respond differently to the chief executive's own likeness than to a presenter reading the same words.
Do you support other languages?
Yes, 42 languages, which means shift workers and overseas sites receive the same announcement in their own language on the same day rather than weeks later.
