Video for schools

Parent updates, open evenings and admissions guidance, made without the pupils on camera.

Schools make four: a weekly parent update, an open evening preview, an admissions and transition guide and a staff induction. Each is produced in minutes and avoids the consent problems that come with filming pupils.

Why video earns its place here

Newsletters are not read. The same content delivered as a sixty-second head teacher update, linked from the parent app, reaches households that never open an attachment.

Transition into Year 7 or Reception is the highest-anxiety moment for families. A short guide covering uniform, the first day and who to contact answers the office phone before it rings.

A worked script outline

  1. 1Open with the week, briefly"Three things this week: parents evening, the trip deadline and a reminder about coats."
  2. 2Give dates as dates"Parents evening is Tuesday the fourth, booking closes on Friday at noon."
  3. 3Handle the reminder without scolding"The field is muddy until half term, so a coat and spare shoes help enormously."
  4. 4Close with where to ask"Any questions, reply through the school app and the office will come back to you."

Compliance and tone notes

  • Do not include images, names or voices of pupils without current parental consent recorded for that specific use.
  • Safeguarding overrides marketing: never show anything identifying a child's location, routine or transport arrangements.
  • Statements about inspection outcomes must quote the published report accurately and not paraphrase a judgement.
  • Admissions criteria described on camera must match the published policy exactly, since parents rely on it when applying.

Questions people ask

Is there a free tier?

Yes, no card. Schools typically test one weekly parent update, since engagement can be compared directly against the newsletter it replaces.

Can I use my own likeness?

Yes. Head teachers commonly appear as themselves for parent updates, which is the point — families respond to the person they know.

Do you support other languages?

Yes, 42 languages. Admissions and transition guides in home languages are the most requested use from inclusion leads.
